Sand a turned bowl from this wood and the bold dark stripes jump right out against the pale gold. That striped look is what gives zebrawood its name, and it is one of the best parts of working with it on the lathe.
These are zebrawood bowl blanks cut to a full 2.5 inches thick. That gives you real depth to hollow out a bowl with a nice high wall, not just a shallow dish. Zebrawood is hard and heavy, so it holds an edge well and turns clean once your tools are sharp. The grain is coarse and open, which you can feel under your hand, and it takes a smooth shine after a few sanding passes.
Each blank is solid stock ready for bowls, small dishes, lidded boxes, or other turning work. Mount one up and start shaping. The stripes do the rest.
