White Wenge is the light, pale cousin of the dark wenge most folks know. It has a creamy tan color with soft brown lines that run straight down the grain. This is a hard, dense wood, so it holds fine detail well on the lathe.
Each piece is cut square at 2 inches by 2 inches. That size is a nice fit for spindle work, small handles, pens, bottle stoppers, and other short turning jobs. The wood cuts clean, sands to a smooth finish, and takes oil or wax with a warm, even glow. The straight grain keeps tear-out low while you work.
