White Wenge stands out for its light, creamy color that breaks the rule for a wood most folks picture as dark brown. This board is hard and heavy, with an open grain and bold streaks that run down the length. It is the same tough wood as regular Wenge, just cut from the paler sapwood.
You get one board at 3/4″ thick by 4″ wide. The flat shape works well for cutting boards, box sides, inlay strips, small shelves, and thin furniture parts. The wood machines clean and holds a sharp edge, so joints and details stay tight. Sand it well, since the open pores can feel a little coarse before you finish.
- Size 3/4″ thick x 4″ wide
- Count one lumber board
- Wood White Wenge, pale and hard
- Good for cutting boards, boxes, and inlay
Once you add oil or wax, the pale grain warms up and the dark streaks pop, leaving a smooth top with a quiet shine.
