Each piece here is a White Limba bowl blank cut to a full 2 inches thick. That gives you real depth to shape a bowl, a cup, or a small hollow form without running thin. White Limba is the pale, light-colored side of the limba tree, so the wood comes out creamy with soft tan streaks running through it.
This wood turns easy. The grain is straight and even, so your gouge slides clean and you get smooth walls with very little tear-out. It sands down fast and takes oil or a clear finish well, which lets that light color and gentle pattern show. Sharp tools give the best surface.
- Size 2 inches thick for bowl blanks
- Wood White Limba, the pale-toned grade
- Good for bowls, cups, and small hollow forms
- Light cream color with soft tan streaks
If you have turned soft maple, White Limba will feel close in weight but a touch softer under the tool, and the color stays paler and more open than maple ever gets.
