People often reach for oak, but white ash gives you the same hard, strong feel with a lighter and brighter face. This board pack is 3/4 inch thick and 2 inch wide, and you get 4 pieces in all. The narrow 2 inch width makes it easy to cut, drill, and shape without much fuss.

White ash is a tough wood with long, open grain lines. It bends a little before it breaks, which is why it has long been used for bats and tool handles. The wood takes glue well and sands down very smooth. It also soaks up stain in an even way, so you can keep it pale or make it look like darker wood.
