Quarter sawn white oak shows off a flashy ray fleck that you just don’t get from a plain cut. These small lumber squares are sliced across the grain the slow way, so the wood stays flat and stable and barely moves once you put it to work.
Each square measures 3/4 inch thick, 6 inches wide, and 6 inches long. The face is hard and tight, with straight lines and those bright shimmery flecks running through it. It cuts clean, sands smooth, and takes a finish well, so the grain really pops once you wipe oil on it. These are a good size for box lids, small panels, inlay, coasters, and other little shop projects.
- Size 3/4 inch x 6 inch x 6 inch
- One white oak lumber square per piece
- Real quarter sawn cut with ray fleck
- Good for boxes, panels, and craft work
Fresh cut white oak starts out pale tan with a hint of gold. Give it time and light and that color settles into a warm honey brown that keeps getting richer the longer you have it.
