Hard Maple Thin Sawn Lumber 1/4″ x 4 1/2″

Soft Maple is fine for everyday work, but Hard Maple is the tougher, heavier cousin you reach for when you want a board that holds up. This thin sawn lumber is cut 1/4 inch thick and 4 1/2 inches wide, so it is ready for small projects without a lot of resawing. The wood is dense, hard, and very strong for its size.

Hard Maple has a light, creamy color that runs close to white, with a fine, even grain and a smooth feel. These thin boards are great for small boxes, drawer bottoms, inlay, scroll saw cuts, and other craft work. The pale face takes stain and finish well and lets you show off clean lines.
