At 3/4 inch thick and 6 inches wide, these boards are a handy size for small box lids, cutting board strips, inlay work, and test pieces before you cut into a bigger plank. This pack gives you four different woods to play with in one go.

You get one board each of Butternut, Walnut, Grey Elm, and Quarter Sawn Sycamore. Butternut is soft and light tan and easy to carve. Walnut is a deep chocolate brown. Grey Elm has a tough, wavy grain. Quarter Sawn Sycamore shows off little flecks called ray fleck when you cut it that way. Lining them up side by side is a simple way to learn how each wood feels, cuts, and takes color.
