This 3/4 inch thick by 6 inch wide board is a handy size for box lids, cutting boards, knife scales, and small trim work. The flat 3/4 inch thickness lets you resaw or plane it down without losing much wood. You get one board to work with.
Bolivian Rosewood, also called Pau Ferro, is a hard and heavy wood. It cuts clean and takes sharp detail, so it holds crisp edges on joints and inlay. The grain runs straight to a little wavy, with a fine, even texture that feels smooth once sanded.
The color is the best part. It runs from warm red-brown to deep violet-brown, with dark streaks that look like ink lines across the face. Each board has its own pattern.
