This is one solid carving block of real basswood. It measures 4 inches by 8 inches and ships as a single piece. The wood is soft and light, with very little grain pattern to get in your way. That makes clean lines, small details, and crisp cuts easy to hold. It takes paint, stain, and a wood burner well too.
