Aromatic Cedar, also called Eastern Red Cedar, is light to work with and holds its smell for years. A quick sanding brings the scent right back when it starts to fade. The wood shows warm red and pink streaks with pale cream edges, and the grain has lots of small knots that give each board its own look. It is a favorite for closet liners, blanket chests, drawer bottoms, jewelry boxes, and craft work.
