White Wenge Lumber for Sale

White Wenge comes from West and Central Africa. It grows in the swamps and wet forests of countries like Congo, Cameroon, and Gabon. It is the lighter, paler cousin of the dark brown Wenge most folks know. The wood is also called Dikela or Pale Wenge by some sawyers. We stock it as lumber boards for all kinds of shop work.

The Color and Look

White Wenge has a soft cream to pale tan color. Some boards lean a bit golden or light brown. It does not have the near-black streaks of regular Wenge. That makes it a great pick when you want a clean, light face on a project.

The wood keeps its pale tone well once you put a clear finish on it. A simple oil makes the warm cream shade pop without hiding the grain.

Grain and Hardness

This is a hard, heavy, dense wood. It is strong and stiff, much like its darker cousin. That means it holds up to daily use and stands the test of time.

The grain runs mostly straight, with some boards showing a slight wave. The wood has a coarse, open texture you can feel under your hand. Sharp tools and a little patience give you the best cut, since the dense fibers can be tough on dull blades.

Good for These Projects

White Wenge lumber boards work well for furniture, cabinets, and fine woodworking. Builders use it for table tops, chairs, shelves, and trim. The pale color also makes it a smart choice for inlay and accent pieces where you want a light wood next to a dark one.

It glues and joins well and takes a smooth finish. The hard surface wears slowly, so the pieces you build will look good for years.

The Grain You Can See

What sets White Wenge apart is the long, ropey grain lines that run down each board. The open pores catch the light and give the face real depth. Run your hand across a finished piece and you feel that coarse, woven texture that no smooth wood can match.
