Where Padauk Comes From

The padauk we sell is African padauk. It grows in the warm forests of central and west Africa. The trees get big, so the boards come wide and long with clear, clean faces.

Fresh cut padauk is a loud orange-red. Over time and with light, it settles into a deeper brown-red. That color shift is normal for this wood, so plan your project around the older look.
